Good Afternoon Fantraxers. Today we have special guest Garth Crooks to take us through his carefully selected and totally tactically realistic team of the week. So without further ado here we go:
Gaff: Alright Garth.
Gaff: Long time no see Crookers how’s life been treating you?
Garth: It’s been a busy period. Demand for a top notch pundit is on the rise but I’ve found time in my busy schedule to provide some insight into my favourite league, Fantrax.
Gaff: Cheers Garth, shall we crack on.
GOALKEEPER – LEE GRANT (LEWEYS LEGENDS)
GC: I like Lee. He’s stepped up during a torrid time at Stoke and has been an integral part of their recent turnaround. The clean sheets were always going to come for such a solid defence and Lee’s provided them with some confidence at the back. It’ll be a shame for the lad when Jack returns. No keeper this week has scored higher than a generic CS score but I’ve chosen Lee due to his CS and 2 saves, which is more then any other keeper this week with a CS.
LWB – JAMES MILNER (GOOCH UNITED)
GC: I’ve got a lot of time for James. He’s a hard working player that has it all. He often gets unnecessary stick but I think he’s proven his doubters wrong time and time again. He’s a fantastic conversationalist. I’ve been very lucky to visit his holiday home in Scarborough where we’ve stayed up all evening discussing common interests such as our favourite motorways, the food reduction procedure of Tescos & the top 5 garden centre’s in the north of England (hotly debated). He’s had another great week at LB and Klopp really seems to have found a strong use for him. 1CS and a goal is a fantastic return for a player that was ‘demoted’ to defense.
CB – GARETH McAULEY (GOOCH UNITED)
GC: A solid CB that has found his idol in Tony Pulis. He is on outrageous goalscoring form for a CB, with 3 goals already this season. I’m sure Graeme will astonished by his return for a player that would have been dubbed as ‘average’ prior to the start of the season.
RWB – VICTOR MOSES (PEP BARMY ARMY)
GC: Another player that has had a resurgent season. He’s been a new man under Conte and is continuing to make Daniel a happy bunny. Another goal this week helped Chelsea to a 2-1 victory other my beautiful Spurs.
CM – LEROY FER (REAL SOSOBAD)
GC: The ex PBA player was snapped up by Josh Rees, who has managed to gain managerial ability during the loss of his hair. What a return Leroy has provided to Mr Rees. It’s a shame these points eventually led to nothing and I’m not sure what else Pep Rees could have done to avoid his loss. 12fpnts with 2 goals is a beautiful performance and I’m hoping he’ll continue this form for the Sosobad.
LAM – GYLFI SIGURDSSON (HAMHEADS)
GC: A swans team that can’t defend can only do one thing, attack. I’m sure my totw will never feature so many Swansea players again, but enjoy it while you can *looks amusingly over to Arun*.
Aaron Hamlin will be very pleased with a 10 point return from Gylf with 1 Goal 1 Assist. Can the Swans keep this level of goalscoring up whilst trying to solidify at the back? Could make for a nervy season for teams relent on Swans players for creativity.
CAM – ALEXIS SANCHEZ (OZONE ATLETIC)
GC: I love Alexis. He always has moments of brilliance in him. Even when Arsenal have looked blunt and uninspired he pops up with something out of nothing. This was most certainly the case this weekend. The team didn’t look hungry but Alexis managed 11pnts with 2 goals *looks amusingly over to Arun*.
RAM – WILFRIED ZAHA (GRVY PENGUINS)
GC: Even when three of his starting 11 don’t score a single point Richard’s team still manage a commendable 41 points. This team don’t look like slowing down and if they were to win the league I’d like to personally attend the trophy ceremony.
There were plenty of players to chose from in the Penguins this week but I’ve gone with Wilfried who racked up 10 points 1goal 1assist during the goalfest at the Liberty.
LF – FERNANDO LLORENTE (CLEMLEM)
GC: More points racked up for Matthew Clements bench. I’m pretty sure he’s taking Le Benche Ligue more seriously than the main fantrax league. In just 24 minutes on Saturday Llorente managed 12 points, 2 goals and 1 assist. Luckily for Clements this may lead to more opportunities for Fernando, he’ll just be hoping the rest of his team can rack up more than 13 points.
RF – ALVARO NEGREDO (LEWS LEGENDS)
GC: “I’ve gambled. Ox instead of Negredo” famous last words from Larrence. Negredo returned Larrys faith with 9pnts 2goals this weekend. The ox may have started but is generally used as an impact player. Alvaro hasn’t scored since week one but it’s gambles like this that either lose or win games. Unfortunately in this case Larrence has dropped to another loss.
ST – SERGIO AGUERO (PEP BARMY ARMY)
GC: Sergio scores goals. Fact. 2 this weekend helped Dan over the line against a resilient Soso team. 9 points is a lovely return and its this level in form for a striker that will keep the Peps up the league.
GC: So here’s my team in full. I think you’ll find it makes complete tactical sense:
GC: and here are my noted subs who just missed out this week.
Forster(PBA): 6pnts 1cs
Tomkins(BBA): 6pnts 1g
Walcott(TGP): 7pnts 1g
Pedro(OA): 7pnts 1g
Benteke(TF): 9pnts 1g1a
Gaff: Cheers Garth you are literally my hero.
GC: Till next time.
